Humorous club newspaper (Number 1, 1852 November 30 through Number 7, 1853 April 1) in a variety of manuscript hands. Content of newspaper includes: humorous and satirical articles on theatrical performances in New York city, poetry, letters to the editor, stories, cartoons, advertisements, political commentary, parodies, and other materials; and pen and ink drawings and sketches. Note accompanying volume (removed to curatorial file) records the following names: William Jones Hoppin (editor) for Anna Maria Fay (the Marchioness); illustrated by Augustus Hoppin. Also includes names of: G.W. Curtis, Mrs. Frank Peabody (then Bloodgood), Fanny Bloodgood Duncan, and Harriet Fay Bush.
